For every breakout, there were players who fell flat in fantasy:
- Derrick Henry (RB, Ravens): Expected to carry the rushing load, he instead found few holes, was contained by the defensive scheme, and failed to produce expected yardage or explosive plays. Although he had a great week 1, his disappointing week 2 shows some inconsistency for this veteran RB.
- Cortland Sutton (WR, Broncos): After being solid in Week 1, he was largely shut down in Week 2 by a physical defense, producing very little in the receiving game.
- Ashton Jeanty (RB, Raiders): The rookie failed to make much of a splash despite expectations, with limited yardage and no scoring.
- A.J. Brown (WR, Eagles): With key injuries around him, many expected him to step up, but he couldn’t generate separation and had a very quiet game.
- Marvin Harrison Jr. (WR, Cardinals): He struggled to find the end zone and wasn’t utilized as much as owners hoped, which lowered his fantasy output significantly.
- Michael Penix Jr. (QB, Seahawks): He threw for low yardage, no touchdowns, and was under constant pressure. The performance was well below projections.
